A little history

Founded in 1960, Los Habaneros Restaurant became a benchmark for local and regional gastronomy, offering its customers a cafeteria and a terrace on the rise of San Diego street, to taste appetizers, tapas and daily menus, and some lounges private to enjoy lunches, dinners and celebrations.

In 2013, Bartolomé Vera assumes the management of the Hotel and appoints chef Juan Paez as head chef of the restaurant. Thus begins a stage of R D I in the kitchen, prioritizing the exquisite quality of the seasonal product to recreate traditional recipes from Cartagena that are enriched with the most innovative elaborations of Spanish cuisine and the contributions of Oriental cuisine.

In November 2018, a comprehensive reform of the cafeteria, kitchen and restaurant was carried out, which ended in February 2019 and was reopened as La Posada de los Habaneros, referring to the gastronomic offer of the hotel owners at the beginning of the 20th century. A name that refers to two of its hallmarks: tradition and innovation.

The restaurant has 5 private rooms that are closed with vintage wooden and glass folding doors, to hold all kinds of events and family celebrations, with the comfort of being in a spacious and open space that easily adapts to the needs of diners. .

The Kitchen & the Living Room

The Chef's small bites pamper your senses and are the prelude to dishes that change according to the whim of the Earth, the Sea and the passing of the seasons. The excellence of the product, the contrast between the classic and the modern to enrich the gastronomic tradition of Cartagena and the care put into the preparations, are the foundations of our gastronomic proposal.

The energy of a restaurant is the result of the sum of the exquisite quality of the product, the good work of the elaborations of the Kitchen equipment , the details that make the place cozy, and the friendliness and professionalism of the room team that strives for you to enjoy the gastronomic experience at your table.
